Ladies- I enjoyed our summer bible study so much and was challenged time and again by it. I thought I would put this together for each of you to have as a reminder of what we’ve looked at this summer. I will probably send this out in three sections. If you weren’t able to come this summer I have the DVD series and would be happy to share it with you. Melissa

Reflecting the Heart of Christ in My Priorities, by Kris Goertzen
Joshua 1:8- This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, But you shall meditate on it day and night, So that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Psalm 139:23-24- Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
Chapter One- A Heart Consumed with God
Heart Verse- Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being, declares the Lord. But to this one will I look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.” Isaiah 66:1,2
My goal is God Himself, not joy, nor peace, nor even blessing, but Himself, my God. Oswald Chambers
Project One- Quiet Time — A radical growth will come in your life as you spend time alone with God in His Word!
Chapter Two- A Heart consumed with God
Heart Verse- “Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou hast taken hold of my right hand. With thy counsel Thou wilt guide me, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in Heaven but Thee? And besides Thee, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those who are far from Thee will perish; Thou hast destroyed all those who are unfaithful to Thee. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; That I may tell of all Thy good works.”
Souls abiding in Jesus open the day with prayer, prayer surrounds them as an atmosphere all day long; at night they fall asleep praying. Charles Spurgeon

Chapter Three: A Heart Prepared to Serve
Philippians 2:3- “ Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not look out for your own personal interests, But for the interests of others.”
We plan our lives around the world and not around God, and wonder why our lives are mediocre. Rick Goertzen
I pray to God this day to make me an extraordinary Christian. George Whitfield
Do some honest sin- hunting. Don’t pretend that there isn’t sin lingering on our hearts. Choose right now, right here, not to cohabitate with our lazy habits, our lousy excuses, our rotten language, and so on. Ask God to show you what lurks in your heart that hinders you. Ask Him to help us not to make excuses for our sin. Not to justify or hide it. Ask God to help us to reflect Him and to live for Him.
Project: Schedule
Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but to everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.
Kris Goertzen’s paraphrase of this verse: She who schedules her days will be blessed with elegance and order, but she who flies by the seat of her pants will scare others and have a nervous breakdown by supper!

Chapter Four- A Heart Prepared to Serve
Heart Verse: “I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze, and cut through their iron bars. And I will give you treasures of darkness, and hidden wealth of secret places, in order that you might know it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by name. Isaiah 45:2,3
If you fail to plan you plan to fail!
This is a tremendous prayer by Betty Stam
Lord, I give up all my own plans and purposes. All my own desires and hopes, and accept Thy will for my life. I give myself, my life, my all, utterly to Thee forever. Fill me with thy Holy Spirit.
